Ashok Goel Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Essel Propack.
Ashok Goel is currently, the currently the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Essel Propack. He has been associated with Essel Propack since 1984. He has started his career by looking after the family's trading activities and involved in setting up of Essel Propack from scratch. Afterwards Ashok has been instrumental in establishing Essel Propack as a global player in laminated tubes. Today, Essel Propack is ranked no. 1 in laminated tubes in the world.
Ashok was also responsible in Essel Propack's foray into plastic tubes arena, medical devices and specialty packaging materials. The company has operations in 13 countries- USA, Mexico, Colombia, UK, Germany, Russia, Poland, Egypt, India, Nepal, China, Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore through 25 plants. He has successfully integrated a complex and diverse range of technologies and processes and achieved operational
efficiencies and reduction in the overall costs.
In 2006, Ashok led Essel Propack's foray into the medical devices business, by acquiring a US-based company Tacpro Inc. and a Singapore based company Avalon Medical Services. Later that year, he spearheaded the company's entry into specialty packaging materials by acquiring Packaging India, the third largest manufacturer of specialty packaging materials in India.
Ashok is currently President of PlastIndia Foundation the apex body of major associations, organisations, and Institutions connected with plastics in India. He was President of Organization of Plastic Processors of India in 2004. Till date he continues to be member of the Executive Committee of OPPI. He is also a member of the Managing Committee of Paper Film & Foil Converters' Association of India (PFFCA). He also
serves as Director of ItzCash Card Ltd.
In July 2005, he was rated among 'one of the 25 truly world class managers from India, after an in-depth research by the publication The Smart Manager.
